Early Life and Background:

Hrithik Roshan was born into a prominent film family. His father, Rakesh Roshan, is a renowned actor, producer, and director, while his mother, Pinky Roshan, is the daughter of filmmaker J. Om Prakash. His uncle, Rajesh Roshan, is a well-known music composer.

Hrithik attended Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and later graduated in Commerce from Sydenham College. Despite a privileged background, Hrithik faced significant challenges in his early life. He was born with an extra thumb on his right hand, which became a source of insecurity during childhood. Additionally, he struggled with a speech impediment (stammering), which he overcame with therapy and practice.

Entry into Bollywood:

Hrithik began his journey in the film industry as a child artist, appearing in small roles in his father’s films, including “Aasha” (1980) and “Bhagwan Dada” (1986). Before becoming an actor, he worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on films such as “Karan Arjun” (1995) and “Koyla” (1997), directed by his father.

He made his acting debut as a lead in “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” (2000), directed by Rakesh Roshan. The film was a massive success and made Hrithik an overnight sensation. His performance earned him Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Male Debut, making him one of the few actors to win both awards in the same year.
