Early Life and Background

Jayaram Subramaniam, popularly known as Jayaram, was born on December 10, 1965, in Perumbavoor, Kerala. He comes from a Tamil Brahmin family settled in Kerala. His father, Subramaniam Iyer, and mother, Thankam, played an important role in his upbringing.

Jayaram completed his education at Sri Sankara College, Kalady, where he studied History. Before entering films, he worked as a chenda percussionist and later became a professional mimicry artist in the Kalabhavan troupe, which paved his way into cinema.

Film Career

Debut and Early Success (1988-1995)

Jayaram made his debut in Aparan (1988), directed by Padmarajan. His performance was well received, and he became a rising star in Malayalam cinema.
