Early Life and Career Beginnings
Dileep, born as Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai on October 27, 1968, in Aluva, Kerala, started his career as a mimicry artist at Kalabhavan. He later worked as an assistant director under Kamal before transitioning into acting. His first credited role was in Manathe Kottaram (1994), after which he gained recognition with Sallapam (1996) and Ee Puzhayum Kadannu (1996).
Rise to Stardom
Dileep became a household name with films like Meesa Madhavan (2002), Kunjikoonan (2002), C.I.D. Moosa (2003), and Chanthupottu (2005). His knack for comedy, unique character portrayals, and commercial success made him one of the top actors in the Malayalam film industry.

In the late 2000s and 2010s, he delivered box office hits such as Bodyguard (2010), Kaaryasthan (2010), Mayamohini (2012), Sound Thoma (2013), Ring Master (2014), Two Countries (2015), and Ramaleela (2017).
