Early Life:
Salman Khan was born into a prominent film family. His father, Salim Khan, is a legendary screenwriter known for classics like “Sholay” and “Deewar,” and his mother, Sushila Charak (later Salma Khan), is a homemaker. His stepmother, Helen, is a famous actress and dancer. Salman grew up with his siblings Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and Arpita Khan Sharma.
He attended St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai, and later studied at St. Xavier’s College but dropped out to pursue his acting career.
Entry into Bollywood:
Salman made his debut in a supporting role in “Biwi Ho To Aisi” (1988). His breakthrough came with the romantic blockbuster “Maine Pyar Kiya” (1989), directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The film was a massive hit and established him as a leading actor, earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
