College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. He also pursued a degree in business, but his true passion always lay in the world of cinema. Karan Johar’s first major break in the film industry came as an assistant director to Aditya Chopra on the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), which went on to become one of the most iconic films of Indian cinema. His experience on that film gave him valuable insights into filmmaking.

Karan Johar made his directorial debut with the blockbuster film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji.
